We are in the home stretch for the Skagit 2045 Regional Transportation Plan draft! Thank you to all who have participated in our planning process. A draft plan is expected to be released for public comment in late January.
Until then, SCOG staff has been busy working on the various elements of the plan update. These include updating the regional transportation priorities, financial forecasts, and final project list. We’re also forecasting future population and employment, to see how the transportation projects planned in the future could help us meet our travel needs.
As promised, we’ve developed a GIS StoryMap to showcase the results of our survey! We received 166 responses in English and Spanish. While this number doesn’t represent the broad diversity of all viewpoints in Skagit County, we’re very grateful to those who took the time to share your opinions with us. We will also include highlights from these survey results within the Regional Transportation Plan where appropriate.
Stay tuned for more updates as we finalize our project list and analyze our travel demand model results. We’ll also let you know when the draft Regional Transportation Plan is available for public comment.
